Brief outline about the Physiotherapy and Allied Health Science.
It is recognized that the physician of today is over worked professionally. It is also recognized that many of the functions of the physician can be performed by auxiliary worker has been defined as one who has just less than full qualifications in a particular field/ subject and is supervised by qualified professional worker (W.H.O).

The W.H.O. no longer uses the term for various health professional allied with medicine (WHO-1984-Health for all Ser. No. 9) Apart from the group of manpower which is very essentially required to effectively deliver the health care services in the field of Medicare are collective called as (Paramedical) Manpower. The science which deals this subject is called as the Allied Health Sciences (W.H.O.)

The demand for physiotherapy & Allied Health Science manpower and its lucrative job opportunities exist very widely, not only in India but also in overseas countries. Almost all the trained and duly qualified physiotherapy & Allied Health Science professional are absorbed by the foreign countries.

The physiotherapy & Allied Health Science courses offer and fulfill the following criteria:

1. SELF-EMPLOYMENT
2. PRIVATE-PLACEMENTS
3. GOVERNMENT- JOBS
4. OVERSEAS-OPPORTUNITIES

Thus, Allied Health Science education is yet another important education now required for the present India education is yet another import now required for the present Indian educational systems, at present as per the estimated statistical data our country needs several lakhs of Allied Health Science Manpower.

There are  no council yet of physiotherapy. But American Physical Therapy Association provides accreditations and establishes standards for physical therapy education and practice. Few of them are working in India like IAP/IACP etc.
